Wintry Tales Programme
Since 2022 Live Theatre’s Wintry Tales programme has brought children into the heart of creating our annual family Christmas show. Each year we work with schools across the region to co-create new theatre with children’s voices at its centre.
Previous productions include:
- Wintry Tales by Rory Mularkey, supported by St Paul’s C of E Primary School, Caedmon Primary School and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School.
- Wintry Tales: Snow Covered Maps and Mountainous Mayhem by Lisette Auton, supported by Caedmon Community Primary School, Percy Hedley & Northern Counties School, Southwick Community Primary School and Westgate Hill Primary Academy.
- Blitzen on the Tyne by Danielle Slade, supported by Northern Counties School, St John’s Primary School and High Spen Primary School.
- Where Do All the Kittiwakes Go at Christmas?’, created in-house and supported by Cragside Primary School, Dryden School, and Edberts and Pattinsons House.
This year 2026 Where Do All the Kittiwake Go at Christmas? returns as a bigger and more spectacular production on our main stage, supported by West Denton Primary School, Hexham Priory School and Hotspur Primary School.
