Choir Boys Productions Present

AN ADEQUATE ABRIDGEMENT OF BOARDING SCHOOL LIFE AS A HOMO

Written by NED BLACKBURN

Directed by JOSH STAINER & MEG BOWRON

Cast - NED BLACKBURN (he/him) playing Johnny, HARVEY WEED (he/him) playing Harry & Others

Meet Johnny, 18-years-old and in his final year at an all-boys boarding school. He ambles through daily life, Britney in his ears, failing to fit into the school's (rather rigid) mould. Enter Harry, the rugby golden boy. To save time, Johnny and Harry shag. Constantly.

This isn't a coming out story or a gay tragedy. It is life through the lens of a young queer man, navigating Grindr, hyper-masculinity and an institution rife with shame.

Choir Boys Productions was formed in the Manchester student theatre scene. They began by cutting their teeth with small-scale productions at local Manchester venues and the  Edinburgh Fringe. Last year their third production, An Adequate Abridgement of Boarding School Life as a Homo was a smash hit at the Edinburgh Fringe, we went on take the show on a short UK Tour before we return to Edinburgh for a full run at Underbelly this August. Looking beyond the fringe, they hope to continue to present the show to new audiences and develop their network as an emerging company.
