Live Theatre Closure - Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

When will Live Theatre reopen?

Live Theatre is currently closed until further notice and all previously scheduled shows and events through to the end of July 2020 are cancelled.

We are following UK Government guidelines. Once they lift restrictions on social distancing and the opening of venues including theatres, we will re-open our doors to the public and commence rescheduling previously advertised events and programming new shows.

I have paid for tickets for a show no longer going ahead. What should I do?

We have contacted all ticket bookers to let them know that all shows are cancelled and have given a choice of three options in this instance:

1. Arrange a refund
2. Credit your account (credits are valid for 12 months from re-opening)
3. Accept the value of your ticket(s) as a donation to Live Theatre (as a charity any support would be appreciated)

To arrange a refund/credit on your account or to donate the cost of your ticket(s) please contact us with your preference:
* In the first instance, please email tickets@live.org.uk
* If you are unable to email, call our Box Office on 0191 232 1232 and leave a voicemail message with your contact details and we will get back to you as soon as we are able

Live Theatre is a customer of ours, who do we speak to re payments etc?

For finance and other administrative enquiries please email info@live.org.uk and a member of the team will get back to you as soon as they can

If I have an urgent message/enquiry who do I contact?
For urgent enquiries, please email info@live.org.uk and mark your email URGENT in the subject header.  Please include a contact telephone number and a member of the team will get back to you urgently

How can I support Live Theatre throughout this difficult time?

Live Theatre is a charity and in these difficult and unprecedented times we are extremely grateful for any support, that you are able to offer.

You could help us in the following ways:
· Make an online donation, however small.
· Give the gift of theatre and purchase a gift voucher
· Become a Friend of Live Theatre from as little as £5 per month

Will you still be sending out communications throughout the closure?

Communications will not be as regular as normal but there will be occasional emails to those subscribed to our e-newletters to update on news on re-opening or other items we feel may be of interest.  To subscribe to any of our e-newsletters go to https://bookings.live.org.uk/account/shortreg.aspx

Please continue to visit this website for news and follow us on the following social media channels:

Are you still accepting submissions for creative opportunities throughout the closure?

Our creative opportunities for 10 Mins To..., Bursaries and Script Submissions are now closed.  Thank you to everyone who has got involved.  We have a small team working through all submissions and we will share news on plans for any developments as soon as we can.  We appreciate your patience at this time.  Please note that we are not able to provide feedback on any submissions we are not intending to develop.

When will Live Tales or Live Youth Theatre sessions begin again?

All our activity with children and young people has now been cancelled until July 2020, including all Live Tales and Live Youth Theatre sessions. We want to begin our work with all the groups and individuals that we work with as soon as we can, as safely as we can.

We are following UK Government guidelines. Once they lift restrictions on social distancing and the opening of venues including theatres, we will work hard to recommence sessions as soon as we possibly can.

I have a gift voucher or wish to purchase a gift voucher, what are the conditions on their use?

The expiry date of all existing gift vouchers will be extended for the period of the closure. You can purchase new gift vouchers to support Live Theatre during this time. They will be valid from the date of re-opening but can't be posted/collected until the Box Office re-opens.

Are there any changes to Friends Memberships?

Friends Membership will be extended to include the period of closure.
