Great North Write 2025

As the city gears up to for one of the biggest events of the year, this is an opportunity to bring your own writing to the finishing line!

Are you writing a play for our Playwrighting Award? Prepping something for Live Writes? Or simply have a writing project that needs a kickstart or polish?

The day before the big run, Live Theatre will be opening up its spaces for playwrights to get their heads down and get writing. Spaces offered will include a cabaret table in our theatre, a table in our bar, or a snug area of our Undercroft.

Free refreshments, inspiration and advice will be on hand if you need it.

Writing can be a marathon, but we are here to cheer you on!
