Live Youth Theatre

Young people aged 10 - 25 (school year 6 upwards) meet new friends, develop self-confidence and create original plays that reflect their views and opinions in weekly sessions delivered by some of the most exciting theatre makers in the region.

Live Youth Theatre meet weekly throughout the school year, starting in late September. Over three exciting terms young people will develop their skills in stage craft, develop a new play to perform on the stage and explore scripts that have been produced and performed here at Live Theatre.Live Youth Theatre is the largest free theatre and drama programme for young people in the North East of England.

22/23 Youth Theatre starts Mon 19 Sep 2022 with sessions as follows:

Youth Theatre at the Fire Station, Sunderland

Welcoming young people aged 10-14 years from all backgrounds to join us in taking part in a brand new term at the Fire Station, Sunderland...

The term will run from Week Beginning 19th September - Week Beginning 5th December (Excluding Week Beginning 24th October where we will have a break for Half Term).

Sessions will be on Wednesday Evenings, 5-7pm in the studio space at the Fire Station in Sunderland City Centre. Initially this is only for young people aged 10-14 years but we hope to be able open this up to other age groups in time.

You can expect 11 weeks of fun filled sessions led by one of our industry professionals, who will guide you along with your group through the process of creating a piece of theatre, whilst encouraging you to develop your creative skills along the way.

Live Youth Theatre is the largest FREE theatre and drama programme for young people in the North East of England.

*PLEASE NOTE: The deadline for applications is 31st August. Places are limited to young people in school years 6-9 (ages 10-14) and will be allocated on a first come served basis.
