A celebration of filmmaking, inviting the world to head North East

The spotlight turns North East once again from 18th to 24th November 2024 as we celebrate creativity and innovation at the UK’s fastest-growing, youngest BIFA qualifying and only carbon negative film festival. NEIFF hosts a range of events, including special screenings with Q&A sessions, VIP networking events, and free workshops delivered by industry professionals. The centre piece of the week is the three-day festival of finalist films screened throughout the region, all culminating in the prestigious Closing Awards Gala.

This year we are thrilled to partner with Live Theatre for our opening Friday of Official Selection screenings! Showcasing a wide range of subjects through both shorts and feature-length films, from documentaries to dramas, animation to action - see some of the best independent films from the region and around the world in a three-day festival of cinema and cast your vote for the Audience Choice Award. Friday evening’s Industry Networking Party is one not to be missed and a night you will not forget in a hurry.
