Live Theatre's Hot Desk

We are offering out our spaces to freelance creatives free of charge with our brand new initiative Hot Desk.  Please note the Writers' Room and Undercroft are open plan shared spaces.  If you require more privacy, we would recommend booking The Schoolhouse Hub.

Creatives will be welcomed into our quayside venue to use selected workspaces to meet, work and create, aiming to actively encourage more people to use our building than ever before.

In conjunction with this, our café and bar area will be open throughout the day. Having previously only been open to the public when there was a performance or event going on, we want to be a hub of creativity, networking and socialising. Freelancers will be able to get a speciality coffee or other refreshments from our cafe, along with access to free fast Wi-Fi in warm, calm and cosy surroundings.

Owning many of the buildings in the of the quayside’s Broad Chare, Live Theatre has many different spaces including brand new quayside-view flats now available on Airbnb, here.

The Hot Desk opportunity being offered is another chance to utilise our award-winning city centre theatre with three areas initially designated to the Hot Desks.

The Theatre's top floor Writers' Room, or ‘Cog Room’ as it is affectionately known among staff has the old cog that has remained as part of the theatre as well as a large meeting table, room for refreshments and a large TV for presentations - upon request. The Writers Room also shares the impressive view of the Tyne bridge.

The Schoolhouse Hub is also available to book out with a private kitchen and sofa area separated by a glass meeting or conference area. Professionals can book out the accessible space that is close to but privately separated from the café bar area. The glass conference room gives enough privacy for meetings without being completely secluded.  (temporarily there is no wifi in this area.)

We are also offering out our Undercroft Space. The famous medieval cellar section of the Café bar area with comfortable sofas and chairs, coffee tables, a desk and piano. A quayside secret, Live Theatre's Undercroft is perfect for the more sociable creatives to work and network in a relaxed environment. The Café/bar will be open from 12pm with refreshments served until the end of the last booking slot – and even later if there is a show.

The Undercroft is an audience favourite at Live Theatre with many already coming in early to use the space and Wi-Fi before staying on to see an event. The hot desk will guarantee a space ahead of the general public or anyone who may also be in using the area.

Hot Desk bookers will receive all information needed on arrival to the building for their chosen slot.

Bookings must be made 2 days in advance.
