Project Description
We are looking for two highly versatile performers to join us as lead actors in our upcoming family Christmas show running from Sat 9 - Sat 23 Dec 2023.
Following from the success of last years Christmas production we are creating a new play working with four different schools from Newcastle, Gateshead and Sunderland. Our Children and Young People's Team and the writer Lisette Auton have been delivering creative writing workshops with Westgate Hill Primary, Caedmon Primary, Southwick Primary, Percy Hedley & Northern Counties School to generate storylines for the production.
What are we looking for…
- Two brilliant performers skilled at multi-rolling with experience working with or making work for children
- Actors and performers from all walks of life. The casting is open and we encourage applications from any age (18+), gender, cultural background, race or disability
- Performers who can play an instrument and/or sing
- Live or have a base within 25 miles of Newcastle Upon Tyne
- We are making the show with integrated access and at least one of the actors should be able to communicate in BSL

If you don't have spotlight, then an actor's CV will be fine to send through.

If you are unable to make theses auditions dates but think this role is suited to you, alternatively you can send us a self-tape.
As we want our auditions to be open to everyone we are holding a child friendly audition process, so you are welcome to bring your child into the audition space with you.
Key dates
Audition dates: Thu 1 and Fri 2 June 2023. With a second round/recalls on the Wed 7 June 2023.
Rehearsals: Mon 6 Nov - Fri 1 Dec 2023.
Technical rehearsal: Mon 4, Tue 5 & Wed 6 Dec 2023.
Show: Sat 9, Sun 10, Tue 12, Wed 13, Thu 14, Fri 15, Sat 16, Sun 17, Tue 19, Wed 20, Thu 21, Fri 22, & Sat 23 December 2023.
Three shows per day each 1 hour long 10:30am, 1:30pm & 6pm.
