CHRISTMAS FLIES INTO LIVE THEATRE WITH BLITZEN ON THE TYNE AND PRESENT
Live Theatre has a stocking full of seasonal treats this Christmas with alternative festive fable Present, magical wintry tale, Blitzen On The Tyne and the return of mini-play with special guest, Santa at Live Theatre.
Opening the yuletide offering on Thu 3 December is Present, a high octane, energetic show, packed with humour and heart and featuring an incredible soundtrack. Present is an Alphabetti Theatre production in association with Live Theatre and Crisis Skylight. Written and directed by Ali Pritchard, it stars Malcolm Shields (One Off) as Dave, with live music from the hugely talented Ceitidh Mac.
It’s the 23rd of December and Dave is preparing his Christmas tradition – to party like it's 1994, the drinks are flowing, the music is pumping. Tonight's going to be a good night. Until the buzz from his phone stops the noise - bringing him back to the real world. It’s a text that gives him the chance to create a new Christmas tradition and meet his grandson for the first time. Join Dave on this epic festive quest as he battles to buy a Christmas present for his six-year-old grandson.

Blitzen is the littlest, lumpy and bumpy, a little bit wonky and big, but funky! Blitzen is waiting for their big moment to fly on Christmas Eve when a vicious storm reroutes them to the Tyne. A magical tale of finding your inner magic, friendship and celebrating your true self. Merging the pen of accomplished writer Danielle Slade, talented cast members Karen Traynor and Micky Cochrane and the uncontrollable imaginations of primary school children. It’s proper new writing for kids!
