*Ticket Levy

Live Theatre is based in a complex of special, historic buildings on Newcastle’s Quayside. It’s a unique space that we care for and work hard to maintain to the highest possible standard.

To help support this, we include a Ticket Levy on all bookings. A levy is a small additional charge added to your ticket price, ringfenced for a specific purpose. In our case, every penny raised goes directly towards the care, repair and long-term sustainability of our buildings.

From 1 April 2026, the Ticket Levy will increase from £1 to £2 per ticket. This change reflects the rising cost of maintaining a historic venue. Each year we spend over £50,000 on essential repairs and maintenance alone, before factoring in emergency works and the increasing day-to-day costs of running the building.

We have always tried to keep ticket prices as accessible as possible and have resisted additional charges, including a booking fee. However, this small increase will make a meaningful difference to help protect and sustain the venue you know and love.

We haven’t taken this decision lightly. We remain committed to ensuring as many people as possible can enjoy a night out at Live Theatre, while also safeguarding the future of our home.

Thank you for your continued support. We are incredibly grateful.
