Alison Carr - Writer

Alison Carr is a writer for theatre, audio, and screen. Born and raised in Gateshead, and now living over the river in Newcastle upon Tyne, she has had work made across the North East of England, as well as all over the UK and internationally. She is drawn to creating funny, dark, entertaining and energetic stories, often with women at their heart.
Theatre credits include A Street Like This (Unfolding Theatre, Winner – Performance of the Year, North East Culture Awards); Until It's Gone (Òran Mór’s A Play, A Pie and A Pint, Stellar Quines, Traverse Theatre); Tuesday (National Theatre Connections Festival); The Last Quiz Night On Earth (Box of Tricks); Iris (Live Theatre, Winner – Writer of the Year, North East Culture Awards); The Soaking of Vera Shrimp (Winner, Live Theatre/The Empty Space Bursary Award). Alison’s play Birdie is a previous Finalist for the Women’s Prize for Playwriting.

Maria Crocker - Director

Maria is a working-class Northern theatre director and deviser based in Newcastle, specialising in new writing, musical theatre and adaptations.
Her directing credits include: The Gap (Shedinburgh, WIP); The Sorcerer’s Apprentice; Growth and Found (Northern Stage); Dogs On The Metro, My Door and Amai Vangu (Live Theatre); Into the Woods (The Customs House); Spring Awakening (Middlesbrough Town Hall); Scarborough Porpoise (Pilot Theatre); and One Last Waltz (UK tour).
A long-standing collaborator of director Rachel Chavkin, Maria directed the West End revival of Hadestown at the Lyric Theatre and continues to oversee the production and casting. Her associate and assistant director credits also include Hadestown (National Theatre), Local Hero (Edinburgh Lyceum/Old Vic), Mood Music (Old Vic) and work with Headlong and Northern Stage.
Maria trained through Headlong Origins and the National Theatre Studio. She is a recipient of the Michael Grandage Futures bursary and was runner-up for the RTST Sir Peter Hall Directing Award.

Hannah Sibai - Set Design and Costumes

Hannah Sibai is a British/Syrian designer based in Yorkshire. Trained at Wimbledon School of Art, she has designed over 80 productions across the UK and Europe, working across theatre, film, music videos and installation. Her practice is highly collaborative, and she regularly works with directors, writers, choreographers and composers from the earliest stages of development to create design-led work that places visual storytelling at its core.
Her she has designed for spaces across the UK and internationally, including productions at the National Theatre Public Acts, Royal Opera House, Dutch National Opera, Almeida Theatre and Bristol Old Vic, as well as major venues such as Birmingham Hippodrome, Sheffield Crucible and York Theatre Royal. Her most recent credits include Children of the Night (UK tour), Brighter Still (Bradford City of Culture), Arabian Nights (Bristol Old Vic), Northanger Abbey (UK tour) and A Play for the Living in a Time of Extinction (York Theatre Royal).

Catja Hamilton - Lighting Design

Catja is a freelance Lighting Designer. She is a former Creative Associate of Jermyn Street Theatre and Resident Designer at NDT Broadgate. Catja is a Co-Director of Airlock Theatre.

Roma's sound design and composition work for theatre and events spans from small scale theatre to large scale site specific parkour and aerial. Music and sound design for theatre work includes: Astell & Woolf (written by Shelagh Stephenson, Directed by Karen Traynor and produced by Live Theatre); Bad Lads (Written by Mike Kenny, Directed by Jenny Sealy and produced by Graeae/Live Theatre); The White Card (Written by Claudia Rankin, Directed by Natalie Ibu, A Birmingham Rep, Leeds Playhouse, Northern Stage & Soho Theatre co-production in association with HOME Manchester); numerous Open Clasp shows including New York Times Critic's pick Key Change (Written by Catrina McHugh and Directed by Laura Lindow) and Tiny Fragments of Beautiful Light (Written by Allison Davies, Directed by Karen Traynor).
Roma also created the sound design for the critically acclaimed stage version of I, Daniel Blake (Adapted by Dave Johns, Directed by Mark Calvert and produced by Tiny Dragon and Northern Stage).
Event work includes: Resurgam (Bandaloop/ Greenwich + Docklands International Festival/ St Paul's Cathedral); Rugby World Cup 2021; the Opening event for 2024's Edinburgh International Festival (Pinwheel Arts).

Ziad Jabero - Composer

Ziad is based in Newcastle, his recent composing work includes: The Wizard of Oz (Theatre by the Lake); The Jungle Book (Bolton Octagon); Alice in Wonderland (Derby Theatre); Cinderella (Northern Stage); Sleeping Beauty (The Dukes, Lancaster); The Lightbulb Princess (Tutti Frutti Productions). Ziad has toured internationally and released five studio albums as a member of Newcastle band The Baghdaddies.
