In Newcastle, a queer community choir meet to chat (argue), eat (demolish) biscuits and belt (just about manage) some banging tunes. An attempt at a safe space amidst the chaos of the big bad world. But when their calm is shaken up, should they stay quiet to stay safe?

Rosie Bowden is a director, producer and facilitator based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. She is the Associate Director at Eastlake Productions. As director, her credits include Gerry and Sewell by Jamie Eastlake (Associate - Aldwych Theatre, Newcastle Theatre Royal), Soapbox Racer by Ben Schwarz (Alphabetti Theatre) and Head Girl (Edinburgh Fringe Festival). Rosie produces her own work under the name Rosy Cheek. Their events include Lasses and New Folk on the block which Rosie hosts, as well as the young person’s project, FLOCK. Rosie also produces The Girls, Theys and Slays choir and Breaking in: The Drama School Intensive.
Maya Torres is a performer and creative from Newcastle. On Screen she can be seen as Sanam in BAFTA winning short How To Be A Person (Channel 4) and as Mindy Singh in BAFTA nominated feature Blue Jean (BBC and BFI) among other short form and commercial work. Maya also has experience in theatre having performed with Northern Stage, Live Theatre, Alphabetti Theatre, Open Clasp and Laurels. Maya also lead the Girls Theys and Slays choir.

Meena Al-Nawrasy is a Kurdish actor/singer/ writer/facilitator born and raised in Newcastle. Her work includes; Geet Northern Show (Alphabetti Theatre), Geordie Gaol Girls (Workie Ticket Theatre), Peter Pan and Wendy (Gala Durham), Pease Puddin’ Sandwiches (Live Theatre & Open Door @ Newcastle Theatre Royal), Stolen Spotlight Audio Play (Workie Ticket Theatre).
Erin Thwaites - Eilidh
Erin Thwaites is an actor from and based in the North East. She is a member of Ensemble 84 and her acting credits include Hamlet and Pits, Players and People. She plays the violin and sings as part of The Girls, Theys and Slays Choir. She is represented by Minerva Talent.
Becky Clayburn - Alex
Becky is a North East actor whose recent credits include Gerry and Sewell (Aldwych Theatre, Newcastle Theatre Royal, Live Theatre and Laurel’s), Tits Up (NE tour), Cinderella (Northern Stage), Ghosts of Metroland (Live Theatre Elevator Festival), Antichristmas (Laurels), Juggling (Laurels).
