Live Theatre's Young Person Employability Programme

Live Theatre Young Person Employability Programme in Partnership with NHS Universal Family Programme

Live Theatre will be delivering a series of 6 x weekly 2hr workshops for young people aiming to get into work.

Workshops will take place on Fridays, 6pm - 8pm at Live Theatre in Newcastle between Fri 19 Apr - Fri 24 May 2024.

This is a FREE NHS funded Programme being offered to a limited number of young people aged 16 - 25 who have experience of being in the care system.

Using creative learning and drama, our workshops are designed to enhance communication skills, build confidence and encourage teamwork, whilst equipping the participants with the necessary skills and knowledge needed in preparation for entering the world of work.

These workshops have been created by Live Theatre in partnership with specialist freelance facilitator Jayne Humphreys, who is significantly experienced in working with care experienced young people.

The workshops will also be led by Jayne, along with a freelance support worker, and well-being practitioner, ensuring that the young people are fully supported during their time with us.

Examples of what the workshops might include:

- Building confidence and self-esteem through drama games and activities

- Forum theatre exploring different interview scenarios

- Looking at communication styles, identifying your strengths and best practice

- Creating a standout CV

- Interview tips and tricks (looking at how to conduct yourself in an interview)

- Mock interviews to give the participants a first-hand experience

- Careers advice and where to seek help

- A safe, supportive and familiar space
