A roadmap for getting back to Live

Following the UK Government’s recent announcement of the ‘Roadmap’ out of lockdown, Live Theatre is delighted to share an update on our plans for the coming months and a timeline for reopening and in particular getting audiences back into the theatre.

In April 2021 we will commence a three month long capital programme of works which will see significant improvements to our physical space, the Live Theatre audience experience and accessibility.

With the phased easing of restrictions we are looking at options for staging work outside in Live Garden in August and we are incredibly excited to be finalising our plans for a full Autumn Winter season of live shows to be performed inside our main theatre, from September 2021.

The Live Theatre team has continued to work behind the scenes throughout the pandemic to support and create work opportunities for the freelance creative sector through our talent development programme. We have shared stories including 10 Minutes To…Call Home, 5 Plays of Christmas and Live Youth Theatre’s The Reconnection Collection via our digital Live Wired programme and our acclaimed Live Playwriting Course is now underway.

We look forward to bringing you more details on our capital improvements and creative programme very soon and of course welcoming audiences back into Live Theatre.
