The Gingerbread Witch from Rory Studio

Award-winning arts organisation Rory Studio presents a new family theatre show, placing deaf characters and experiences in the world of fantasy. 

A tale of fantasy for all ages, The Gingerbread Witch takes place in the mystical Scottish village of Oban. Against this backdrop, young twins Anders (deaf) and Aurora (hearing) discover an enchanted object that propels them into an extraordinary adventure. Children have been inexplicably disappearing for generations, leaving the village swirling with intrigue and rumours, and their discovery suddenly thrusts the twins into the very heart of this mystery. 

Can they solve the riddle of the missing children, defying the odds with the strength of their unique, unbreakable bond?

warming tale, with enchanting performances that combine the artistry of poetry, dance, music, and a mesmerising animation backdrop. Immerse yourself in this heartwarming tale, and let us transport you to a world of wonder and adventure. This unique story also features a deaf character at its core, enabling deaf children across the North East to see themselves represented on stage and within the fantasy genre.

Performances take place at Live Theatre on Sat 28 & Sun 29 Oct at 11am & 1.30pm.

British Sign Language and spoken English used throughout all performances.
