Sharing stories from 11,000 children and young people, Our City Our Story is a powerful new insight into the experience of growing up in NewcastleGateshead.

Organised by City of Dreams, this event will fill Live Theatre with films, music, maps, poetry, Instagram soundwaves, theatre, art, virtual reality, and more – all made by young people, about young people.

There is something to see from every corner of our city. Each tells a different story. Together they show us what really matters to under 25s on Tyneside. There will be an exhibition in the rehearsal room, short films in the studio,  installations in the undercroft, and performances in the theatre. Guided tours are available throughout the afternoon from our Young Champions.

Contributors include:  Live Theatre, Northern Stage, Tyneside Cinema, Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Dance City, Sage Gateshead, CoMusica, Music Spark, Gem Arts, Newcastle Arts Team, Seven Stories, Young Women’s Film Academy, Hotspur School, Dyanmix, Skimstone Arts, New Writing North, Discovery Museum, L:Ink, Arts Connect, The Angelou Centre, Youth Focus North East, West Jesmond School, Heaton Manor School, Excelsior Academy, Cardinal Hume School, CHAT Trust, Konnect, Children North East, Streetwise, Brash, Northumbria University, Unfolding Theatre.
