Find out more about creative volunteering opportunities with Live Theatre. See our new Live Tales studio at the Fire Station in Sunderland (Monday 11 February), meet current volunteers and staff, and ask questions about volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers at Live Theatre provide invaluable support with projects such as Live Tales, its children and young people’s story-writing programme in Newcastle and Sunderland. Volunteers encourage and inspire pupils aged between 7 and 14 to develop their imaginations and write stories.  They provide encouragement, one-to-one and in small groups, and help children to build confidence in their storytelling. Volunteer illustrators create drawings to accompany the children’s stories, whilst some get to use their acting skills.

Volunteers should be over 18 and receive full training. The commitment is flexible, and you can volunteer as much or as little as you necessary to fit in with your life.

Whether you want experience to add to your CV or want to give something back, all our volunteers enjoy working in a creative and educational environment.
