Audience Feedback - The Savage

Listen to Audience feedback about The Savage by David Almond at Live Theatre until 23 July.

Carnegie Medal-winning author David Almond adapts his critically acclaimed short story The Savage for the stage.
“What you writing Blue?”
Following the death of his dad and to escape the unwanted attentions of the neighbourhood bully Hopper, Blue throws himself into writing. In his imagination, he conjures up a “truely wild” character – one full of anger and thoughts of revenge. Helped by his friend Elaine, his mum and baby sister Jess, his creation takes on a life of its own, blurring the line between fact and fiction…
The Savage is a family friendly play with music, movement and eye-catching visuals that will appeal to both young people and adults alike. Commissioned to coincide with the launch of the Live Tales writing centre it is an uplifting contemporary fable about creation and renewal, wildness and civilisation, showing the importance of creativity in making us whole.
